Body Odour (Bromhidrosis)

The unpleasant smell produced when you sweat is termed body odour, or bromhidrosis. Body sweat is odourless, therefore the bad smell is not due to sweat but occurs because the bacteria present on the skin surface changes sweat into acids.

To avoid body odour you should take general precautions such as taking regular showers, wear fresh clothes, use medicated soap to wash, and also use deodorants or antiperspirants. Antiperspirants reduce the amount of sweat produced and regular washing with medicated soap removes bacteria.
