MetaLipoate Tablets has undergone a minor reformulation - The form of Alpha-Lipoic Acid used in MetaLipoate has changed to R-Alpha Lipoic Acid (sodium) which is a more stable and bioavailable form of Alpha Lipoic Acid. Therefore the amount of Alpha Lipoic Acid has been reduced to 200mg per tablet. Croscarmellose sodium has been replaced with sodium carboxymethylcelluose.

MetaLipoate is a premium-grade preparation of alpha lipoic acid. It provides the sodium R-alpha lipoic acid form, which is a highly bioavailable and stabilised form of R-lipoic acid. Each tablet provides 200mg of alpha lipoic acid.

Biologically, lipoic acid is often referred to as the “universal antioxidant” since it is both water-soluble and fat-soluble. Because of its universal solubility it can go literally everywhere within the body, even crossing the blood-brain barrier.

Within the body lipoic acid can regenerate other antioxidants like vitamin C and E, glutathione and CoenzymeQ10.

Alpha lipoic acid is a cofactor involved in the energy production within the cells. It may also protect against free radical damage.

Studies have repeatedly shown that alpha lipoic acid may support blood sugar balance and insulin sensitivity, as well as the health and function of neurological tissue. Note: If you are diabetic please consult with your doctor before supplementing with MetaLipoate, as it may enhance insulin sensitivity.
