Bite Away is placed with its ceramic contact surface on the puncture site or insect bite. The device can also be used after contact with nettles and jellyfish. The duration of heat exposure of approximately 51 °C can affect the user by selecting the respective button; either three seconds for sensitive skin or six seconds for regular use. By the localized application of heat, itching and swelling caused by insect bites and stings can be prevented.
