Thompson's Pure Slippery Elm powder comes from the inner bark of the North American Red Elm tree. It is dried and then finely ground to a powder. The mucilaginous consistency of slippery elm is gentle on the digestive system, providing a smooth coating to the wall of the stomach.

Directions:To make a thin Slippery Elm porridge take a teaspoonful (6g) of Thomson's Pure Slippery Elm Powder and mix well with a teaspoon of raw cane icing sugar. Slowly add half a pint (248mls) or so of boiling water, or milk stirring vigorously all the time. If desired it may be flavoured with a little cinnamon spice. It may also be made without sugar. May be taken up to three times a day.
