Nutty in flavour and using 100% of the grain, this ancient variety works well in all kinds of baking. Spelt is a species of wheat that has been cultivated since approximately 5000 BC. More water-soluble than wheat, it is easier for the body to digest and produces a light-eating loaf. Our Wessex Mill Wholemeal Spelt flour uses 100% of the spelt grain and makes delicious wholemeal loaves with a nutty taste, but can also be used in cakes and biscuits for something extra special.
